Camera Recommendations

Hey everyone,
I'm looking into getting a camera, both for airsoft and for skiing and other outdoor activities. I was wondering what you guys recommend. The two main kind of cameras I was looking at are a contour HD and a go pro. I was wondering the pros and cons of each, if they are worth the price, and if anyone recommends any other brand/type of camera.

I use my contour roam for. Snowboarding and aairsoft. Its giod qualitiy and i love it, not a fan of the go pros mounting or shiny case as far as airsoft goes

I have a hero3 go pro black. I love this camera. I mount mine with a nvg mount on an emerson fast jump helmet. So the image is centered on what I am looking at. Image quality is awesome. The camera records in h2.64 but comes with a surprisingly simple and effective program to convert it to avi or whatever. Typically cameras with higher frame rates make the image darker I don't experience this with the go pro. Stock battery lasts a little over two hours but that was with the wifi on. I going to start using without the wifi to see if that helps on the battery life problem I also added a battery bacpac it doubles the the battery life. But honestly I wouldn't bother with wifi.

Contour >>>>>>>>> GoPro

GoPros are cool, great for extreme sports... But if you'll be using it for airsoft, they look goofy as hell. Plus, if you ever plan on running night vision (not everyone does, and that's cool) you'd obviously have issues using the night vision mount for your camera. The quality/battery/etc differences between the 2 cameras are so close, that I think it's worth it to buy for the case and mounting solutions, so the Contour clearly wins there.
